By Nikola Stojanović Last updated May 13, 2020

Lithuanian broadcaster LRT, has announced that The Roop will be special guest of the German Eurovision show "Eurovision Song Contest 2020 – das deutsche Finale live aus der Elbphilharmonie“ which is set to take place in Hamburg. Lithuania is among the ten finalists of the show while the others include: Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Denmark, Iceland, Italy, Malta, Russia, Sweden and Switzerland.

The ten finalists of the show were decided after the German audience got a chance to watch all entries of Eurovision 2020 and chose their 10 favourites during a special semi-final show “World Wide Wohnzimmer” in which Benjamin and Dennis Wolter were joined by another YouTuber Freshtorge and was commented by Peter Urban. After the 10 finalists were announced the German national broadcaster has invited The Roop to Hamburg in order to perform “On Fire” live during the final. The show won’t be having any audience and it will also feature the performance of “Violent Thing” by Ben Dolic which should’ve been presented at Eurovision stage in Rotterdam.

Regarding the opportunity which The Roop got their manager Lauras Luciunas says:

At the moment, all the documents and travel details are being coordinated, so we hope that nothing will stop us from leaving. The group very much welcomes this opportunity and is determined to represent its country and introduce itself to Europe, at least in this way. In Germany, the group will be  awaiting many interviews.

The final which will be commented by Peter Urban and Michael Schulte (Germany 2018) and hosted by Barbara Schöneberger is set to be broadcast on 16th of May with the beginning at 20:15 CEST on ARD.
