Spotlight on Stefania - Greece 2020/21

Greece have been in the contest for over forty years and have produced some great fan favourites in their time at Eurovision. They took the trophy home in 2005 following a triumphant win in Kiev with ‘My Number One’.

This year they selected Stefania, a Greek-Dutch signer to represent the country with ‘Supergirl’. Stefania is one of the youngest entries of the contest at just 17 years old. Born in The Netherlands, by ten, she applied to compete in The Voice Kids, where she made it through to the audition stage. Soon after, she became a member of the children’s choir, Kinderen voor Kinderen.

This isn’t Stefania’s first venture into the contest either - in 2016, she was selected to represent the Netherlands in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Valetta, as part of the girl-band, Kisses. They finished in 8th place with the song, Kisses and Dancin.

Following this, she released her first single in 2018 and followed that with three more in 2019.

Her Eurovision track ‘Supergirl; is about encouraging teenagers to believe in themselves and to follow their dreams. It describes Stefania’s journey as a young, working woman who juggles her responsibilities as a student with her passion for singing.

We are pleased to see that Stefania will get her chance to represent Greece again as she has been selected to represent the country again for 2021. Who knows, this supergirl might even be able to bring home the trophy a second time for Greece…!
