Manizha Will Represent Russia At Eurovision 2021!

Russian broadcaster Channel One Russia has organized a national final and the Russian entry for Eurovision 2021 was determined in this way first time after 2012 when their last representative were Buranovskiye Babushki who won the national selection that year.


Since then every single time Russian representative was selected internally. There were many speculations which and how many acts were going to be on the show and will it include Little Big. In the end they performed as the opening interval act. Their performance featured the Russian entry for Eurovision 2020 “Uno” the song which broke several records.

After all the three acts were presented it was time to start voting and the winner was chosen solely by the audience votes. As the interval acts we had a chance to see Philipp Kirkorov who performed his entry from Eurovision 1995 “Kolybelnaya dlya vulkana” after that Polina Gagarina performed “Миллион голосов” her Eurovision 2015 entry “A Million Voices” in Russian. Dima Bilan performed “Believe” the winning song of the contest back in 2008. The representative of Moldova at this years show Natalia Gordienko was in the audience together with Kirkorov.


After the voting was finished and the results were revealed Manizha won the selection receiving 39.7% of the votes with the song “Russkaya Zhenschina” and was chosen to represent Russia at Eurovision 2021.


Manizha Dalerovna Sangin is a Russian and Tajik singer-songwriter and performer, known just as Manizha, she became famous to the wider audience after she released some music video collages on her Instagram. Her name means Tender in Farsi. In 2005, she recorded the songs “Ангел мой” (My Angel), “Рыба в песке” (Fish in the Sand), “Танец любви” (Dance of Love), “Ту буди” (Be here) in Tajik and Russian languages, the songs were played on radio stations in Tajikistan. In 2006 she won the competition “Time to light the stars”, and in 2007 – “Навои дил”, organized by the radio station “Asia-plus”. At the age of 15, from the beginning of 2007, Manizha began performing under the pseudonym Ru. Cola. Since December 2019, Manizha has been an ambassador for the Grant Life Foundation. December 2020, she was appointed as the first Russian Goodwill Ambassador of the UN Refugee Agency. Manizha performed the Russian soundtrack of the movie ” Mulan ” (2020).
