Spotlight on Destiny - Malta 2020/21

This year Malta selected Destiny Chukunyere to represent them in 2020, and wow what a force she has turned out to be despite her tender years.

No stranger to the Eurovision stage, Destiny won the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2015 aged just 13 with the song ‘Not My Soul’, winning with 185 points - the most points ever recorded under the old voting system, and her performance was so impressive that she was invited to sing at the Eurovision grand final in 2016.

Destiny says that her musical inspiration comes from several artists and cites Beyonce and Aretha Franklin as the ones who kickstarted her dream to work in the music business.

Given her age, her voice has the range and depth of someone that has been in the industry for many years and it’s something enticing to hear.

Check out her winning performance from 2015 – and remember she was just 13 when she sang this!

Not only has Destiny won Junior Eurovision, but she has also won Junior Sanremo the year before, so it was obvious that she was destined for stardom.

Since her first Eurovision success Destiny went on to audition for Britain's Got Talent receiving high praise from Simon Cowell and the judges and made it to the finals, giving us all a taste of her magic in the UK.

Following this she returned home and took part in X Factor Malta and was mentored by Eurovision Maltese icon Ira Losco. Destiny went on to win the competition and therefore be selected to represent Malta in the contest for 2020.

Her song brings out all of her talent and “All of my love”, her track for the contest doesn’t fail to put a smile on your face!

Enjoy her soul-busting performance of the song:

We are also pleased to confirm that Malta have decided that they will send Destiny to compete in the competition for 2021 with a new song to be announced, so she will get her time to shine on the Eurovision stage!

We can’t wait to see what she has instore for next year, but we can promise you will want to get up and dance along to it and revel in the joy she brings to every live performance.
