She’s playing that song again!

Twenty years ago EuroStarz favourite Nicki French took to the stage in Stockholm to perform what would go on to be one of Eurovision fans favourite tracks – Don’t play that song again.

Now, two decades later Nicki and her management team have released the original recording on download and streaming platforms for the first time ever!

Written by John Springate and the late Gerry Shephard, Don’t Play That Song Again was placed 16th on the night of the Contest and went on to chart at number 34 on the official UK charts, and to celebrate the release Nicki recorded a special live ‘lockdown’ version of the song with the backing vocalists who originally accompanied her on stage in Stockholm back in 2000.

Nicki was the first ever artist to perform at EuroStarz so holds a special place in our hearts and continues to be a real ambassador for all things Eurovision.

As well as EuroStarz, Nicki is involved in countless Eurovision events, pride festivals and parties throughout the year, and last year released an EP featuring some of her favourite tracks from the contest – she’s even covered one from Australia!

Normally we would have seen Nicki perform at several Eurovision events this year and although that hasn’t been possible due to the pandemic, enjoying this digital release is the next best thing!

Previously only available on CD and cassette single, the original recording of Don’t Play That Song Again is now available to download and stream – a must for all Eurovision fans! You can download or stream the track here: https://smarturl.it/dptsa

We look forward to a time when Nicki can perform live once again – who knows, you may even see her make a return to the EuroStarz stage!
