She's waiting for you, with the live band too!

As we all adjust to spending more time at home, there is one EuroStarz favourite that has been tirelessly entertaining us all week after week – the fabulous Lindsay Dracass.

Since we entered lockdown, Lindsay has devoted her weekends to performing a “Live in my living room” gig every Saturday afternoon, performing classic favourites, her own songs as well as Eurovision hits. She also performed a special Eurovision setlist on the day of Europe Shine a Light to the delight of Eurovision fans across Europe.

As lockdown restrictions have been eased to allow six people to meet in at an outside space, Lindsay is seizing the opportunity to get her fabulous band together to perform a live gig in her garden. The gig will be a relaxing and chilled afternoon featuring soulful tracks from her album ‘Waiting for you’.

The gig will take place on Saturday 13th June at 3pm and will be streamed in a dedicated Facebook group.

Lindsay tells us “With so many artists not being able to perform at the moment, I really wanted to do something to support my band and bring us back together.

They are an incredibly talented bunch of musicians but many of them haven’t been gigging so I want to use this opportunity to get them together in a socially distanced way, and bring back some live music that everyone can enjoy. I love putting a smile on people’s faces performing and this seems like a great way to do it as well as get some beer money for the band!”

Of course, we all know Lindsay but let’s find out a bit more about her band!

Jeremy Meek: Bass

Jeremy has been a bassist for a number of years and regularly tours with Paul Carrack. He has also played with Joan Armatrading and Leo Sayer and is an incredibly talented musician.

Steve Beighton: Sax & keys

Steve is an incredibly accomplished saxophonist who also plays regularly with Paul Carrack. In addition to this he has also worked with Take That and S Club 7 over the years.

Phil Johnson: Drums

Phil is a wonderful drummer and has worked extensively with Julian Jones. He has a real passion for Jazz music and has really embraced the genre of music.

Julian Jones: Keys & guitar.

Julian is a long time friend of Lindsays and wrote her album ‘Waiting for you’. Julian is a hugely talented performer and songwriter and is currently working on his forth album due to be released in 2021 as well as collaborating with a number of other musicians.

With such a talented group of musicians, it would be mad not to miss out on this live gig as Lindsay is such a brilliant vocalist and we can’t wait to hear her sing live with the band!

Lindsay is asking for a minimum donation of £10 which will be split between all performers to join the party. All you need to do to join is make a donation to her PayPal account and then she will add you to a private Facebook group where the gig will be performed.

You can find out more details and watch a message from Lindsay herself on her Facebook page:

We are really looking forward to this live performance as it will be one of the first times a Eurovision artist has performed with a full band in lockdown and we can’t wait to sit back, relax and take in the music.

If you haven’t already heard it, check out Lindsay playing with the band at a studio session in 2019 here to get you in the mood.
