She's arrived from Ireland, Her flight’s on time, it’s Eurovision winner Linda Martin!
Linda has been put forward to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest a total of nine times; four times solo, four times as a member of the band Chips, and once in the group Linda and friends.
This is more than any other Irish artist in the history of the contest!
She was selected to represent Ireland twice on her own, coming second in 1984 with Terminal 3, and winning in 1992 with Why me? Both songs were written by Séan Sherrard (who we know as none other than Johnny Logan).
Outside of the contest Linda has had a successful career in tv and theatre. Lending her expertise as a advisor/judge/mentor on shows such as the X factor, You're a star, and Eurosong 2012 respectively.
