Whilst many of us only first became aware of her in Riga 2003, Esther Hart has had a long established musical career stretching before and long since the contest.
She has been performing since she was little, singing for the band ‘Release’ when she was only 14! Since then she has released several albums, performs regularly at festivals, concerts and theatre, has taught at music schools including the Rock Academy in Tilburg, been a vocal coach on 'Popstars The Rivals' and has even sung in choirs for Disney films! How does she have time to fit that all in?!
Esther represented Netherlands in 2003, but that same year she also entered the national selection for the UK. However, she had to chose just one to progress with and went with her home country. We'd like to say we would be happy for Esther to represent the UK anytime! Her performance in the Eurovision Song Contest was rewarded with a respectable 13th place, and her song has become much loved on the dance floors of many a Eurovision party. She was also awarded 'The Best Artistic Performance Award' for her ‘One More Night’ entry - the prize is selected by a jury of past Eurovision winners, which is something to be very proud of.
Not just one of our EuroStarz - she has also been a member of the group The Eurostars alongside other ESC participants Mandy Huydts, Maxine, Franklin Brown and Marlayne Sahupala! WOW a Eurovision supergroup *dreamy heart eyes*!
She has been involved in much work for charity including Sofia Children's Hospital and UNICEF which we think gives her a Hart of gold.
