Anne Marie David needs little introduction - she is a Eurovision icon and brought home the trophy for Luxembourg in 1973 and then going on to represent her native France in 1979 coming third.

Anne Marie began her musical career at age 18 in Paris when she became involved with musical theatre. In 1972, she was cast in the role of Mary Magdalene in the French production of Jesus Christ Superstar.

Luxembourg won the Eurovision Song Contest this same year and were keen to repeat their success. They called upon Anne Marie to represent them the following year and she gave them their fourth win in the competition!

Following on from her Eurovision success, Anne Marie began an international music career, touring the world and recording songs in recorded in several languages including French, English, German, Spanish, Italian, Hebrew and Turkish.

In 1987 Anne Marie took the decision to retire from the music industry, but in 2003 a friend of hers convinced her to come back to the stage for a private performance in a restaurant in Toulouse, France.  

​

A few weeks after this, a record producer got in touch with her as they were keen to put together a compilation of 18 of her tracks. The album "Je suis l'enfant soleil" was hugely well received and became a best selling album online. From this, her career has continued with countless performances around Europe and beyond.

In 2012, Anne Marie celebrated 40 years of working in the music industry and we are delighted to be able to showcase her at this years EuroStarz!
