Last October it has been announced that Iceland chose Daði Freyr Pétursson as their representative at Eurovision Song Contest 2021. In January he asked his followers to join the choir and got a massive response to it. By the end of January it has been revealed by RÚV that Icelandic entry for Eurovision 2021 will be premiered in a new TV show scheduled for 13th of March.
Icelandic broadcaster RÚV also revealed that they plan to release a two-part documentary about the history of Daði and Gagnamagnið’s adventures which started when the song “What Is Love?” ended as runner-up at Söngvakeppnin 2017. The first part of a documentary is available on their YouTube channel it is in Icelandic with English subtitles and you can watch it below:
In addition to previously mentioned the documentary will also feature the discussion of the success of “Think About Things” and the attention that Daði Freyr has received since he won Söngvakeppnin 2020. The song which will be representing Iceland at Eurovision 2021 is called “10 Years”. The premiere of it is set for the 13th of March and you can already pre-save it on your favourite digital platform.
